Local Points of Interest
Come in through the gate and be wowed by the view – Dublin Bay, Killiney, Howth, the spires of Dun Laoghaire all spread out in front of you.
Visit Powerscourt house and gardens, or pop up to Foxs Pub for traditional Irish music and atmosphere.
Drive to DunLaoghaire (20 minutes) and walk the pier, a delight for Dubliners, watching yachts racing by. Perhaps board the “St. Bridget” for a trip across the Bay to Howth, before joining the DART train back.
Take the LUAS tram into Dublin and then get the Hop-on Hop-off tourist bus followed by coffee in Bewleys famous café, or, perhaps, see part of the city on the vintage tea tour.
Drive to Glenalough to wonder at the monastic settlement and walk round the beautiful lakes. A “must” for Hill Walkers is the 47 km. Dublin Mountains Way which passes by The Cottage as it threads its way through the foothills of the Dublin Mountains and links to the more testing Wicklow Way.
